from Wikipedia (full wiki)
After graduating from Nara Ikuei High School in 1995, he joined J. League side Yokohama Flügels. He became the No. 1 GK for the club in August of that season. His first professional appearance came on August 16, 1995 in a league match against Bellmare Hiratsuka. He contributed to the club winning the Emperor's Cup in 1998.

When Flügels was merged with cross-town Yokohama Marinos in 1999, he was signed by Nagoya Grampus Eight. He was again a member of the Emperor's Cup winning side in 1999 but this time with Nagoya.

He made his international debut for Japan on February 15, 1998 against Australia. He participated in three consecutive FIFA World Cup finals. He played all the Japan matches in the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals although Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi was preferred ahead of him in the 1998 and 2006 finals.

He played for Japan as the No.1 goalkeeper following an injury to Kawaguchi, but himself sustained a broken finger in 2009.

He has been included in the 2010 World Cup squad. Narazaki will be one of two Japanese players (other being Kawaguchii) to be named for their national team's final squad for 4 straight World Cups.

from ESPN SoccerNet
This will be the fourth time Narazaki has made Japan's World Cup squad. An ever-present on home soil in 2002, he was relegated to the understudy role in 2006, but has since fought back to regain the number one spot after the unfortunate leg injury suffered to regular national team first pick, Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi.

Starting in November 2003, with a match against Cameroon, he managed to keep a clean sheet in seven successive national team games - a total of 715 minutes - to set a Japan record. He played in ten 2010 World Cup qualifiers and looks set to be a first pick between the sticks in South Africa.

Narazaki was formerly the highest-earning Japanese J.League player, on £500,000-a-year at Grampus and his status as a national hero will be assured if he lives up to his billing this summer.

The Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi-Seigo Narazaki battle for Japan’s goalkeeping jersey has intrigued – and divided – fans for over a decade. The former was first choice at the 1998 FIFA World Cup™ in France and during Germany 2006, while the latter got the nod at Korea/Japan 2002. But since 2007, Narazaki has been the automatic choice.

Born in Kashiba in 1976, Narazaki joined J.League side Yokohama Flugels in 1995 and immediately became No.1 in his first season as a professional. He duly earned his first Japan call-up in 1996, and made his international debut two years later after helping his club win the Emperor’s Cup.

When the Flugels went bankrupt in 1999, Narazaki moved to Nagoya Grampus, whom he helped win the Emperor’s Cup in his first campaign. Described by Nagoya coach Dragan Stojkovic as "an outstanding keeper, very consistent", he has made the J.League team of the season on four occasion and became the first man to keep 100 clean sheets in the competition.

He was part of the Japan squads that finished second at the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001, and won the AFC Asian Cup three years later. He was also one of his country’s top performers in their successful qualifying campaign for South Africa 2010.
